Tai Chi
Weekly Class at The Soma House- Every Tuesday at 5:30
While yoga often focuses on holding poses (asanas), Tai Chi offers the idea of more
continuous flow. Originating from Chinese Martial Arts, it has evolved into a mind-body practice
that is low-impact. As a Tai Chi student you will move through a series of circular motions that
resemble natural rhythms of the body. Tai Chi focuses on the rhythms of the body, focusing on
posture, relaxation and vital energy (Qi).
The Benefits You’ll Experience
Tai Chi is backed by science that proves a positive impact on your physical and mental
health. By joining a class you can expect:
Improved balance and stability
Reducing stress and anxiety
Joint Health
Cognitive sharpness
Why now?
Our lives are so fast paced and we can often find ourselves in the digital world. This can
allow us to “get in our heads”. Tai Chi is a great way to get back into your own body. It can
allow you to deepen your mindfulness or allow for you to have a way to stay active. This is a
restorative feeling rather than something that will make you feel exhausted. Tai Chi will meet
you right where you are in your journey. This is a longevity practice that will allow for a
foundation built on strength and presence
